Museum Day: Leeuwarden

Mark your calendars for Saturday May 18th, and join us on a day trip to our neighbouring city Leeuwarden! We have chosen two intriguing museums for you to discover and planned time to explore the city as well. Leeuwarden is known to hide small minifigures around its buildings, how many will you find? The Nature Museum Fryslân has an impressive collection of specimens related to natural history and biodiversity. It is an interactive museum with lots of activities waiting for you! The AquaZoo Leeuwarden provides us with an opportunity to observe and learn more about animals that are not typically found in a zoo. It focuses on aquatic animals and teaches you about the evolution from the ice ages! We will gather around 8:30 at the Groningen train station to leave for Leeuwarden. The exact train and time will be announced later. That way we have enough time to
visit both museums. We aim to arrive back in Groningen around maximum 18:00 to 18:30. The activity will only cost you €10.50 if you have a weekend OV or €14.50 if you don’t have a weekend OV. The fee includes public transport from and back to Groningen, entry to both museums, one packed lunch and bus tickets. We will ensure that there is a vegetarian option available. The sign up will open on the 22nd of April at 19:00 and close on the 1st of May at 23:59.
