BioBTX Company Visit

BioBTX Company Visit

Dear students,

On the 4th of March, we will visit BioBTX, a Leader in Renewable and Biobased Aromatics centred here on Zernike campus! By joining this company visit you will get a glimpse in the world of circular chemistry.

BioBTX produces BTX, a group of molecules consisting of Benzene, Toluene, and Xylenes, from biomass and plastics. End-of-life plastics are currently being incinerated, landfilled or converted to low-value products. At BioBTX, they are converted towards high-value molecules, which can be used as drop-in chemicals in the current chemical industry. BTX are used as building blocks for a large array of products, like high-performance polymers, pharmaceuticals, coatings, isolation materials, and PET bottles. Currently, these chemicals are produced from fossil resources, but the BioBTX technology can make carbon circularity possible.

The company visit is completely free and accessible to members and guests! The visit will take place from 13:30 to 15:00 at Zernikelaan 17. Don't forget to sign up!

Hope to see you there!
