Job description

0.8 FTE, 6 weeks


The BSc research projects Biomedical Sciences (WBBY902-10) course, within
the programme Biology, is offered to third-year students. This course
concludes the BSc programme and enables students to experience an
academic research environment to test their academic and practical
knowledge acquired up to that point. For a group of students, an experimental
part of a research project is performed in a so called ‘project lab’ and is
localized at ADL1/UMCG.


We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is able help us in:


- Set up and prepare the lab space;
- Provide the daily supervision for the students on technical execution of
experiments in the lab;
- Clean up the lab space after the course.


Qualifications


Preferably, this TA:


- is a registered MSc student from within the EU
- has a VMT certificate and HepB vaccination
- is proficient in English and has good communication skills
- is skilled in at least two of these basic lab techniques:
o Mammalian cell culture
o Western Blot (and/or Immunohistochemistry)
o PCR (and/or qPCR)
o Nucleic acid isolation
- has a proactive and positive attitude
- (previous experience with TA-ing would be appreciated)

- February 2 nd to March 13 th 2026 (6 wks).
