Aim of the course

The aim is to familiarize students with scientific work in companies, institutes or organizations. Students should be able to investigate an assigned topic in a short time, discuss the topic in an interdisciplinary team and present their findings in a clear and comprehensive manner.

Research topics will be provided by participating companies, institutes or organizations. This the cases will be biomedical, biomolecular, biotechnological and neurobiological oriented. Students are expected to investigate the literature and other sources on the assigned topic, and will work in interdisciplinary teams to combine their findings in written and oral reports. The students will be mentored by a supervisor, a member of the staff from the faculty. The students discuss their findings with the supervisor, prepare a written report and oral presentation, and receive a grade. The intention is that this work will then be presented during a visit to the company or organization on the trip following this course, visiting participating companies.
