Working on ways to make the world a more sustainable place is very important nowadays and many companies are working on creating sustainable appliances. Are you interested in sustainability and want to see one of these appliances in action? Then this is the activity for you!
This time, the career committee has teamed up with the company Watter to organise a new activity: Biology in Action. Watter works on sustainable solutions for present-day issues on hygiene. The company created the Watter machine, a machine that produces a sustainable disinfectant that offers an alternative to other, harmful ways of disinfection. With this activity, you’ll have the possibility to visit one of the dairy farms that uses the Watter machine.
In this informal activity you’ll get a tour of the farm, see the Watter machine and get a case (for example unexpected outcomes, expanding the product use or convincing clients). These cases will help you figure out if working in a sustainability/biology-related company is something for you.
The activity will be in English and is suited for first-year students to master students. It will be held on the 21th of May. We’ll gather at the station at 11:35 and take the train at 11:48. We’ll be back in Groningen at around 16:15. The activity is free and you’ll get the transport reimbursed if you don’t have a week-OV. There are only 10 spots available, so sign up quickly on www.idun.nl to be secured of a spot!
We hope to see you there!
