After the success of our first lunch lecture, we are excited to welcome you to our second lunch lecture of the year! The lecture consists of a free lunch provided by yours truly and a talk given by an interesting speaker.
This lunch lecture will be given by Sander Van Dijk, the head of content and education at Sealcentre Pieterburn. Sealcentre Pieterburn is a science-based hospital and research centre primarily for Harbour and Grey seals. They believe that healthy seals are an indicator of a healthy sea. Their goals include striving for a clean environment for humans and seals alike. Sander completed his bachelors and masters in Marine biology at the RUG. Sander mentioned that science communication was a subject which he had never considered, but he found his love for it during his studies.
This activity is suited for first-years to master-students, and is well suited for all majors. The lunch lecture will only be one hour, it will be from 13:00-14:00 on Monday 11th November in the LB 5171.0415 (Take elevator to the 5th floor, cross the bridge and go down 1 floor). You don’t need to sign up, but it is first come, first serve!
We can’t wait to see you there!
